Robert F. Nusbaum is the co-founder and President of Middle America Planning Inc., a Fee-Only financial planning firm located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.
Having satisfied the education, examination, experience and ethics requirements for CFP® certification, Bob is authorized to use the CFP® mark of distinction. In addition to over 20 years of experience as a finance professional, he has an MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a BA in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Certificate in Financial Planning from New York University.
As a father of two young daughters, Bob is especially knowledgeable in the issues facing families. Most parents are overwhelmed by the demands of meeting current cash flow needs, saving for their children’s education and planning for their own retirement. Kathryn Nusbaum, CFP®, CPA is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Middle America Planning, Inc. She is passionate about moving her clients towards a confident and secure financial state of mind. In addition to working with clients one on one, Kathryn speaks regularly to students and adults across the country on effective money skills and aligning conscious, financial decisions with personal goals.
Kathryn's career began immediately following her graduation from Penn State as she was recruited by the Chase Manhattan Bank for their Management Development Program in New York City. Her career carried her to Morgan Stanley where she gathered a long list of accomplishments as a Vice President prior to her departure. In 2004, Kathryn and her husband, Bob, moved their family and their company from New York to Pennsylvania where they have successfully established Middle America Planning.
Kathryn received her undergraduate business degree from The Pennsylvania State University and her MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also completed additional financial planning coursework at New York University. Kathryn holds the Certified Financial Planner® desgination, is a Certified Public Accountant and a Registered Life Planner through the Kinder Institute of Life Planning. In 2007, she proudly accepted a nomination to serve on Penn State Erie's Council of Fellows Board of Directors.
Kathryn has been committed to empowering the less-advantaged her entire adult life. She spent several years volunteering with the Special Olympics and serving on the Organizing Committee of the NY Regional Games. She spent almost a decade mentoring and tutoring children in the NYC public school system. Through her involvement in the NY Junior League, Kathryn taught life skills to women who were near their release dates from a NYC women's prison, conducted leadership programs for youth in housing projects in the Bronx, and lead personal empowerment workshops to run-away youth residing in a NYC transitional housing facility. She has also served as a shelter volunteer at the Women’s Center and Shelter of Pittsburgh where she lead financial empowerment workshops with the shelter residents.
